鈴鹿大学・鈴鹿大学短期大学部で学んだ後、さまざまな領域で活躍されている卒業生がいます。今回ご紹介するのは2010年度国際学部観光学科（現・国際地域学部観光コース）卒業生のエスティマ サブリナ マユミさん（静岡県浜松市出身）です。（国際地域学部教授 アントニオ ジャン=ピエール）

When I was looking for a university to study, I always wanted to study where I could improve my English skills and also have a place with an international vibe. Suzuka International University ticked all the boxes and I really had a great time. I studied tourism because at that time I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted to do but knew I wanted to use English in the future and this course gave me many opportunities.

After I completed my 6 month exchange course in New Zealand, my English improved so much that when the time for job hunting came I started to think more and more of my childhood dream of becoming a flight attendant. Naturally, I looked for airline recruitments and was fortunate to get a job with Emirates airline. I worked for Emirates for 7 and half years.

Flying was the perfect job as I was working at an international company with colleagues from all around the world. Not many people have an opportunity to see the world at such a young age however, there are lot of challenges with this job being far from family and friends and fighting jet-lag, but for me it was completely worth the adventure. I made lots of new friends and met my husband while flying.

Dubai is my home now and this year will be the 10th year since I first arrived. I am happily married and expecting my first child in August.

進学する大学を探す際、英語力が向上し、かつ国際的な雰囲気のあるところで学びたいと常々思っていました。鈴鹿国際大学（現・鈴鹿大学）はその条件をすべて満たしており、本当に素晴らしい時間を過ごすことができました。観光学を学んだのは、当時はまだ自分が何をしたいのかよくわからなかったのですが、将来は英語を使いたいと考えていたので、このコースは多くのチャンスを与えてくれました。

ニュージーランドでの6ヶ月の留学を終えて、英語力が格段に上がった私は、就職活動の時期になると、小さいころ頃からの夢であった客室乗務員になりたいと考えるようになりました。当然、航空会社の募集を探し、幸運にもエミレーツ航空に就職することができました。

エミレーツ航空には7年半勤めました。国際的な企業で、世界中から集まった同僚と一緒に働くのですから、飛行機は最高の仕事でした。若いうちに世界を見る機会はそう多くはありませんが、家族や友人と遠く離れ、時差ボケと戦うこの仕事には多くの困難が伴いますが、私にとっては冒険する価値が十分にありました。新しい友人もたくさんできましたし、夫とも飛行機で出会ったのです。

ドバイは今や私の故郷であり、初めて来てから今年で10年目になります。今は結婚して、8月に第一子を出産予定です。
